I just picked mine up last week; fantastic lens! Sharp even wide open on a 40D!

Love those headphones! Have a pair myself, but haven't used it since getting my Sennheisers.

I just got mine today. I honestly think if I could only have one lens this would be it (on a crop body). Perfect focal length for running around the house and the 1.4 is amazing. Turn a lamp on and you have decent SS in a shaded home.

I knew I would probably get rid of my 18-55IS/55-250IS combo once this and my 85 1.8 came in, but quite honestly, I seriously wonder how much time my 24-105 is going to see.

Yes, it is that good!

My 85 1.8 is due tommorrow. If it is anywhere close to the 30 I will be in heaven!

I adore my Siggy 30. Poor Canon 50 1.4 had to find a better home where it would be loved more once I adopted the Sigma

I share the same feeling about my new 30 @ 1.4 its sharp. My 50 1.4 will most likely be sold off towards a new lens soon.

I <3 Sigma 30/1.4!

I have kept this lens on my XT 95% of the time ever since I got it 2 months ago. Perfect focal length and sharpness!

How would you compare the Sigma 30 f1.4 to the 50 f/1.4 and the 35L?

Sharper and better built than the 50 1.4, from using my friend's. Real ring USM as well. (Sigma includes a hood as well)

Haven't tried the 35L though.

Sigma 50mm f/1.4 or Canon comparison?

I love my 30mm but just don't seem to get enought time with it. Motocross track this weekend and it just is not the lens for that event. I really like the feel of the lens on my 40D, but it almost feels too small especially when I have the grip on the body. I am seriously thinking about getting an XT or XTi just for this lens and park there.

If you people have not done it yet--set your camera on a tripod, ISO to 1600 or 3200, and the lens at f/1.4 then go out at night--I mean really dark--then just set the timer to 2 or 10 seconds in P or A mode and see what you get! Especially cool is a moon/star ligh field with a wood lot across the field somewhat lit by moon light. Lake and city street shots are neat also. So are inside 1 lamp shots as another noted.

Rudy M.---Thanks to this site, I'm learning something new all the time!
