Canon 28-135IS Vs Nikon 18-135

I used, and was very happy with, the 28-135IS. Out of curiosity, Nikon has a 18-135 as the kit lens with the D80. If anyone with experience of both lenses I'd be grateful for comments. Obviously the Nikon doesn't have IS but otherwise how does IQ compare?

With the greater range I would assume the Nikon lens has more distortion, but this is just speculation on my part :/
