RE posting them bigger, I under did have them bigger, but with a looser crop. I didn't have the time to go back to the originals to seek opinions if the tighter crops helped the images. I really should go back and post 600X800 of these if I'm going to leave them up here... Perhaps some time this week when the time fairy stops by.
This was even harder to focus than our normal local stuff Randy. There is little or know way to know if I had lock or not. I though I had enough DOF at my distance to provide coverage, but apparently I didn't, especially if it locked on the sign. I thought I was locked on the athlete as they mounted (bar - single and parallel and on the vault table it self), but apparently I didn't have a lock... I do use the * for focus and once locked, I lay off.
The floor exercises were tough. I had some tack sharp (see the women's thread) and AI Servo was working fairly well and others didn't work out...
Live and learn. Is it too much to ask you to stand further from the monitor to lesson the OOF effect?

Next time, try manually focusing. If you have enough DOF, it can help in getting a lock on your subject. Of course, shooting tighter and filling the frame (or close to it) with the athlete will help AF.
