I just got my Skyport today and took this shot of my wifes friend who is doing a movie with her. I'm new to the lighting game, so be easy on me, but bring on the C&C.

Would like to see it just a little bit lighter. No colour separation between the car and his coat.

Thanks for the comment. How would I have done that? I don't think I would want to bring the ambient up any more otherwise I would have lost detail in the sky. The shot was taken with a straight flash about 6' away from the man. I have a convertable shoot through umbrella. Should I have shot through it, moved the flash farther away from the subject and upped the output to light more of the guy?

I am very new to off camera flash also. I would like to see what the umbrella would look like. If you post this in the flash forum Curtis might have an opinion. Still I think it looks great.

If at all possible, I would say stamp out the jet trail which looks like is coming out of his head.

You might have had the light setup pointing a little high, lower could have given a little more separation between the jacket and car.
