Ok, i'll go first, but please bear in mind, this was my first attempt at motorsport and only my second outing with my 100-400, i tihnk this is about my best shot (cropped). Shutter speed is probably a bit fast, but i had so many soft/blured image i bumped it up a fraction.

100-400 @ 310mm, f/5.6, 1/640s, ISO 320, Tv mode (i know i cheated and had Auto ISO most of the day, i was trying to focus on shutter speeds)

The first is a good one of Lewis :)
Nice and sharp.
Where did you get the TV = 1/640th from?

Next time you're out, I'd shoot around 1/250th or 1/320th as a start, with IS on - Mode 2 for panning. (used to use a 100-400L myself, before getting a Sigma 120-300)

I know the shutter was too fast, but everything i tried slower (1/320 and 1/400) just seemed too blurry. It was hard work holding the 100-400 and trying to pan for 3 days. I guess it's just gonna be lots of practice...

And I'm off to Goodwood next weekend for some more practice :) and at least the fences (straw bails) will be a bit kinder to the photographer there

These were taken during a very brief interlude of sunshine. As the cars were visible to me for such a short time that the focusing motor (USM) was unable to focus in time. I had to go manual and prefocus on a spot on the track. Av mode set at F11 to get some depth of field. ASA set at 400 (generally poor lighting on the day) resulting in a shutter speed of 1/400sec. I know this will be frowned upon by some but this is the first time that I have panned F1. I wanted to get some acceptable shots this time and maybe experiment at slower shutter speeds another time,
