I like radtechs first edit. It shows the low light off more.

Am I getting closer?

Just removing that ugly frame was a huge improvement imo ;)

As for preference, I too really like the direction radtech has taken with this image. Personally, I"m not a fan of the "over the top" HDR look, so I tend to prefer processing that leaves the image looking dramatic, yet still believable.

Sorry to make your eyes roll. I guess some people just don't like drop shadows and bevel effects :(

I just find it detracts from the image more than it enhances it. By writing the frame to the picture, you've made it a part of the image, and so I feel is also worth commenting on. I just think you could be potentially cheapening an otherwise promising image with a frame that doesn't suit the subject. The red higlights on the bevel have no relation to the image at all, and I find it particularly distracting. Sorry if this sounds overly critical, but I think the whole package counts for a lot in terms of the impact an image has. I tend to find that if in doubt, leave the image unframed and allow the viewer to best decide how to experience the photo.

Like I said, no offense intended - just offering my C&C

No offence taken. I've used that frame twice (on 5 different shots) and have gotten a comment both times.

It will be relegated to self use. :)
