Hi everyone
Haven't posted here for a looong time. I'm not really a macro expert but this morning I blew the dust off my Canon 100mm macro and Kenko tubes because my backyard was occupied by thousands of those beetles. Most of them were mating. Any idea who they are?

Alex
Here is the way I do it. I open one browser to my photo on smugmug click on it and select the size I want to post. Then I right click the photo and select propriety's.Now I high light and ctrl c "copy the link".

Then I go to my post on here and click picture. Now in the diag box click it and do ctrl v "paste" . Then OK. That should get you there. Johnathan;)

Nice shots. They have beautiful, almost iridescent wing shells.
Japanese Beetles.
They have unquenchable appetites. Roses, Peach Trees, Beans.
They dwell in the soil as small white grubs coiled in a "c" shape. They sell pheromone traps as a way to rid them, but I think they attract more and the problem gets worse.

Thanks Rab !
Yes, they were all over my rose bush. I sprayed them with Raid Garden stuff and they were gone. Japanese beetles...I will call my pest control guy, ask how to deal with them.
