just an fyi... i initially read rob galbraith's sd/cf card test page (external link)for 1DmarkIII and bought a few PNY Optima PRO 2GB cards since it mentioned it is the second fastest card tested for that camera to date... i found some for super cheap so why not. indeed, i concur with that website, this card is VERY fast write speed on the mk3 ....but 2gb just isnt large enough when shooting RAW.. keep having to swap cards .

so i bought the sandisk extreme III 8gb SDHC card which falls 8th on the website list... thought the test results are pretty darn close between top ten cards, i was a bit skeptical cuz in prev experience, larger cards tend to significanly write slower... to my surprise, this card is almost as fast as the PNY card -- full buffer write was mere ~1sec slower. not bad.

i dont think i can ever go back to CF cards. now i REALLY wish 1dm3 came with two SD slots rather than 1CF+1SD
