My usual birding places have gotten so bad with mosquitoes lately that it is almost impossible to enjoy any type of bird photography. Thus, I've been shooting a lot in the backyard. The only problem with that is we're not getting a big variety of birds. Only finches and sparrows. Anyway, here is one shot from the deck the other day. C&C are always welcome.

Nice composition Kris. I do 99% of my shooting in the back yard, and mostly through my window into the yard. So far, I have seen and shot 39 species of birds in my yard and know most of them by name. ;)

Wow Mitch. That's great. I wish we had that many kinds of birds.

I'm going to try to do some more backyard shots. I have lots of feeders up to attract them.

You have to have at least as many birds as I do, your only across the river. I think the secret is, you have to have food out 24/7/365. It has to be dependable, there every day, or they won't take it seriously. I've had food out for three summers now and it definately seems to be working. :)

We're in a fairly new development so there are not very many trees. The birds were real scarce when we first moved here. It gets a little better every year though.
