If it works OK under those conditions it will be fine in all. Any old rubbish can deliver the goods in blazing sunshine! From these photos it would appear to be working OK ![]() Yep, I think the lens seems to be a keeper Simon

The balance on my 'pod id different to the 120-300, so I've a little to learn before I'm totally happy with it. Simon

As i decided not to take my camera gear to the rallycross yesterday due to the weather forecast, i found myself wandering around the track and realised how much more potential there was for shots in other places as i normally stand at the 1st corner but yesterday i was excited (no not that much ) by the non-fenced view to be had up on the loose section/hairpin.My question is this (at last i hear you say) i already have a 500mm F4 with wimberley head for my feathered friends but would i be too close to the track at the loose section to get all the car into the shot, just i dont fancy humping all my gear there just to find out it aint gonna work, i presume a head on shot would obviously widen the field of view but what about side panning? Anybody with experience of 500mm at the loose section at croft? I have some from yesterday at 500mm from that section of track. I'll be posting a thread in a few days time with some pictures from the rallycross. I'll make sure I include some from there. It is a perfect length for head on or 3/4 shots, but would be too tight for side on pans. Simon
