I've been trying to figure out for a while how to get some decent shots of this osprey nest. There's really not a good location to get close, and I'd never want to take a chance of scaring off the adults with chicks in the nest, which would put the chicks at serious risk. So today I slapped the 2x on the 500mm and this is what I came up with. Even with 1000m, I had to crop a fair amount. The female is on the left, and there appear to be two chicks, although I only got a shot of one of them. Sure wish I could get closer!

Thanks. I think next time I go, this would be a good opportunity to try out stacking the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters.
