Just the color balance and blacks.

For some reason I really enjoyed this old street in Warsaw. It just pulled me in and probably would have like to spent more time there.

Thanks Mitch

Blacks are great aren't they? I am so glad I bought CS3 instead of a lens, it's got a great blacks slider. Did you add vignetting? Either way, this is a great shot. You'd probably have to lighten it some for a print though.

I don't know about blacks and all that yet, but I do know I love this photo!

Another word for blacks is shadows. A good program can detect where a line of pixels of different colors meet, and that is a line and a line has shadows, or blacks, that can be manipulated by a good program. With the right amount of blacks dialed in, it can make an image like this one jump off the monitor which is why we all like it. ;)

Great shot i like it , If your going to play around with it maybe burn the foreground cobbles a bit and the top of the image. It might draw the eyes into the picture through the tunnel . . Might look good

Whats a good photo: Is it pleasing to the eye?

I like the overall look, color treatment, and the composition. Only thing is that I'd fix the slight tilt/distortion if you can.

and you explained in a nice, simple way

I should have included, lines and shadows associated with them can't be seen with the naked eye. They are only one pixel wide and they are all over a digital image. A program like CS2 or CS3 can find them, and with the use of a slider, adjust the luminosity of the adjoining differently colored pixels to make them stand out from each other. Theres a lot more to it that I don't understand, but that's the basics and kind of explains why you see what you see and how it got that way. :)

Nice shot. I really like the low point of view as it emphasizes the rough texture of the cobblestone pavers

I knew I had to get lower for the shot and my wife thought I was crazy going near the ground when I took that shot :)

I am sure some of you have run into that before :D
