I don't think that is correct. When I bought my first I discovered at different times different panels had been substituted when supplies where exhausted but the default is a S-IPS panel.

Adam, if you have access to a better card and a PC then try that.

I don't sadly but i'm pretty sure it's not that after reading that link. I tested it at lower resolutions and higher hz and no difference so it can't be.

It appears to have been a power issue. When my laptop is plugged in I get the flickering, as soon as it isn't it goes. Tried a housemates laptop and no problem.. guess it's something i'll put up with until I eventually buy an editing rig.
