Well, I am planning to purchase a new camera and I'm fairly new to this forum. I am just wondering which camera would be good for typical use (Family Photos, Small events, School Pictures etc.). I won't be cropping pictures or have large prints, just standard sizes. I came between the Canon Powershot SD890 IS and the Canon Powershot SD950 IS. The 890 was released around March 2008, while the 950 was released November 2007 (If I'm not mistaking). Anyways, The SD890 has 10.3 megapixels and it's focal length is 6.6-33.0mm f/3.2-5.7 (35mm film equivalent: 37-185mm). The SD950 has 12.4 megapixels and it's focal length is 7.7-28.55 f/2.8-5.8 (35mm film equivalent: 36-133mm). They are priced about the same, so the price isn't a big difference. I just don't know which to purchase and would love to know your opinions about which one being the most suitable. Thanks!
