Well it was an historic day for British Rallycross with the 2 warring factions coming together to provide a joint Open Championship/ MSA British Championship event and what a great day it was. There was plenty of action throughout the classes despite the weather doing it's best to spoil the day.

1.
Good to see an RS200 out again but it didn't last long

Another group B car in the form of Lawrence Gibson's 6R4

3.
Craig Swales proving that Renaults can fly

4.
David Binks heading for the gravel, don't know whether it was a coincidence or not but the 2 times I stood next to Simon, David Binks decided to leave the circuit at that point.

5.
Pat Flynn entertaining the crowds

6.
Matt Thompson leading the pack down into Clervaux, you may notice the slight drizzle!

7.
Phil Chicken getting the Lupo sideways

8.
And finally Mad Mark Watson in the Xsara WRC making a splash

All comments welcome.
All shots taken with a 1D MKIII and a Canon 300mm f2.8 lens, I kept the same lens on all day as the weather was so bad.

Cheers
Ian

Excellent!

#1 is my favorite, but #3 with 3 wheels off the ground was really close...

Nice set of photos there Ian. Although the weather was foul I recon it helps the photos, if you get my drift :)

Does it always rain up your part of the world ,Ian ,everytime you lads post it looks like Armageddon..:)
Anyway,some cracking shots as usual.
The Zsara shot is standout for me too, followed by Lawrence Gibson Metro.
But all are usual high quality.
Looking forward to SH and his now.

I know what you mean Peter, the rain actually enhanced the event somewhat

Good shots Ian - particularly like 5 & 8. I had planned on going however having just dried out from the MotoGP at Donnington decided on the drier option and watched F1 instead!

Looks like i got out just in time. It was starting to rain as i put the gear back in the car and disappeared off to watch the GP :D

The pre-accident shot of Liam (i didn't inherit the old man's skill) Doran's RS200 and the flying Megane are my pick of a fine bunch.

I think that the pack of Minis heading down into Clervaux sums up the conditions on Sunday perfectly Ian. It was a tad damp at times!! It was a shame that Liam 'accident waiting to happen' Doran wrecked the car after doing a total of two laps, as the RS200 looks very photogenic in the Hydrex colours. The overtaking move of the day was Pat Flynn in the revivals class when he did a huge powerslide through the clervaux gravel trap, overtaking two cars to take the lead. Never seen that done before!

Cheers,

Simon.

Did it spit with rain?

And you may just have made up my mind with the next body / lens combo if you can get shots like this on a hateful day.

Superb.
