hi all.

i just picked up a G2, and i was wondering if the wireless remote can trigger the camera WITHOUT setting to timer?

i basically want to fire the camera with the remote in my pocket.

thanks for the clarification

Sorry, the remote for the G2 is IR and must be pointed directly at the camera. It has a range of about 12-16feet depending on the strength of the battery. I works best for self portraits, not so good for remote wildlife shots. HTH

From the G2 Specifications (page 139 of the English Manual), the self-timer has a fixed delay of approx. 10 seconds and the Wireless Remote Control has a fixed delay of 2 seconds. There are no menu options to alter those settings.

None of the Gs fire instantaneous with wireless. At least you arent without wireless at all like with the G7 and G9.
