We spent about 12 days in Alaska in June. While the weather was overcast most of the time, we did have some sun.

Here are a couple of the photos I captured.

C and C welcomed and appreciated.

i like them all! always nice to see foreign geography, (foreign to me in this case). The last one is my least favorite, and I think if the train was more perpendicular in the shot it may be a but more interesting, but I think all are nice.

Thanks for your comments. The train photo was a bit tricky because the train was actually tilting through the turn at the point that I took the photo, so if I straightened the train, the land would be un-naturally tilted.

Those are awesome - good work! Some older friends of mine just came back from a 5 week trip to AK. They had been planning the trip for 40 years! They drove the whole way with a truck camper and stayed in it all but 4 nights.

They took a point-and-shoot and asked if I could help clean up thier images with "that computer thing you use for pictures". They took about 2000 shots.

Think about NOT using the word "retarded" in a derogatory manner - it insults those who cannot defend themselves - and hurts the ones who love them. Please see: http://www.r-word.org/ (external link)

Wow, that is the trip my father in law wanted to take his entire life! We actually took this trip with him because he is getting older and has health issues and really, really wanted to go to Alaska. We flew and rented a car, so he didn't get his entire wish, but he was happy.

I must say, though, that if I had the time and money, I would love to do the drive like your friends.

Thank you yosef. The highest temperature we experienced during the 12 days we were there was 67 deg. F. We arrived back in Houston after an overnight flight at 7:00 am and the temperature here was 76 deg. F with high humidity. Needless to say, I really wanted to climb back on the plane and return to Anchorage!
