Here are a couple of shots I took of a dog...taken with an ooold p&s (which corrupted my other card and erased the vast majority of my shots...aaagh!!!), straight from camera.

What sort of PP should I do on these to make them look better? Could they be improved compositionally?

Rebel XT. 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6. 85mm f/1.8. Lensbaby 2.0.
Currently borrowing 7D, 50mm f/1.8, 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 Macro IS, Sigma 70-300 f/4.5-5.6.
I have a 220EX around somewhere....heh.

First shot is fabulous just the way it is!

#2.not so much
#3 crop to her side.keeping her still off center....

I thought the expression on her face was the story in the picture. The flowers look like antenna on her head. I couldn't do much with the sharpness etc. but here is my thought on the crop. I also blurred out the background a bit to bring her into the picture.

Flo -- those were my thoughts also, but my photographer friend really liked #2...lol

sjc -- cool, thanks! The blurred background definitely does add to the photo...

first one is nice but u cut off his tail and the second one just doesnt do much for me. like snapshot of dog in water. doesnt really tell a story of why he is in the water.
third shot id crop bit tighter and adjust curves color balance. cute expression, she is really worried/concerned ... bout what?
