Managed to score 2nd row seats for the greatest tennis match ever played, also had my 40D and 70-200 L IS f/2.8 on hand to document proceedings.

Here's a few of the best....

Great images, Simon. The last three are spectacular! You might want to updated your sig, it still says 30D :)

These are fricken amazing. And really show how freaking huge Nadal is. The guy must be mammoth in person. I hope to god he isn't one of the HGH types... None hte less, phenominal images and just an amazing match!

This is a really good set. #5, #6 and #7 are by far my favorite. #7 looks like it could be in a magazine advertisement selling Rolex watches or something. :D

Great set. Lucky you that was truly the greatest final ever!!!!

I do like your processing but on a whole series.......i really don't know.

5 and 6 are simply stunning. I would love to see a few in full colour.

Rafa is the new GOD over here :-).

Was surprised that they allowed you in with the 70-200.

These are all superb. Did they let you in with that 70-200, or did you have to sneak it in somehow?

Great work. The lack of colour just makes the pictures godlike. These would be some awesome prints.

Thanks guys, certainly planning on getting a few of these printed and hung. In terms of getting the camera in there were no problems, their policy is that you're not allowed to take photos and use them commercially but you're welcome to take photos. Not sure how they could police this rule and it will no doubt be overturned in coming years but I was well pleased it doesn't exist now.

It was actually quite funny as they do a bag search when you enter thr ground, the guy searching my bag discovered the camera in the bottom compartment of my bag and had to ask his superviser (who was a 20 year old anthrolpology student at her first Wimbledon) whether cameras were allowed. This is the final day of a 2 week tournament and he's been checking bags all that time and he's still unclear on the camera policy! Ok, so it wasn't that funny.
