Thanks again, folks. :)

This is astonishing. I find it unbelievable that one could attach a 1.4 TC onto a zoom lens of such a focal length as that and get these incredibly awesome results. This sure shows me how much I have to learn about using my equipment. Sheesh, thanks for sharing.

TC + zoom is tough to shoot, but useable when everything falls into place. Here's an ancient one from the 300D + Bigma + Tamron 2x TC, 1000 mm, f/16, ISO 400, 1/200 sec, fill-in from DG Super, tripod/ballhead:

Considering distance and logistics, this shot is nothing less than amazing even if you used a sturdy tripod. Fine work!

Mark II and III; 17-40L; 24-70L; 50/1.8; 85/1.2L; 70-200/2.8L IS; 200/1.8L; 100-400L IS; Sigma 50-500; 1.4x, 2x extenders.
Looking to help fund another's 5D II purchase with $1200.00 Canadian 4 their ol' 5D Mark I (then I can cancel my order, get some fullframe & save some cash) :DDream on

Ditto what everyone else is saying. Beautiful. I've been weighing the pros and cons of the TC's and this shot makes me think I ought to give them a try. I was thinking about trying the Canon 1.4 but maybe I should be looking at the Sigma's too.
