I finally got my lazy carcas out of my apartment today and did a little photography around my neighborhood. I got this shot almost accidently. I was setting up for a kind of backlit abstract of train tracks when I saw a biker was about to cross the tracks. My camera settings were already set up for the shadowy light effect I wanted for the abstract. All I had to do was recompose the shot with the biker in it. Bam, I got this shot. I love it when everything lines up for a good photo.

Let me know what you think.

BTW, this is my first photo post of '05 and first with the new forum setup.

You can't see the picture? The link works for me. I'll try it different this time.

IMG NOTICE: [NOT AN IMAGE URL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

or does this work

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/gif'

or try this link

Where are the directions for direct linking images? With the old forum I could have a photo appear in my post. I don't know how to do that anymore, and I can't find the instructions.

Thanks for any help.

Dave

Assuming that you put up three different links, the third one worked.

First, you're right. That is a great picture.

Next, you're going to have to change your settings under the user control panel.

Pekka explained all this here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50076

Then, you'll post images just as you did before with the

Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE
.

Tom,

Thanks a million! All my new forum problems have been solved.

BTW, I posted my pic correctly the first time. It was pbase that was messed up and not me. However, I never could have figured that out until I reset my user CP the way Pekka instructed.

Powerful shot. If luck is better than skill, then you can't beat luck PLUS skill.

I like but I think you should crop it so it's not a square.

Looks like a good one to submit to a Bicycle magazine.
