b/w but try and dodge his eyes to get the whites whiter. that way it will draw your attention better when u look at the picture.

In the B&W photo, besides the color you did improve other details in the photo, correct?
I noticed this!
Independently of that, even so I prefer the B&W.
The background behind the face in the colored version highlighted a lot.

The art is the real expression of being. The more complex goes the method, less opportunities will have for the expression of the sense original of freedom. Remember, they are expressing the techniques and not making the techniques. (Bruce Lee)

Awww, don't edit out the scratch/scab. There's a suggestion of U2's "War" album cover in it. It makes him such a...Boy. The original B&W conversion is great as is.

Wow thanks everyone.

Howzitboy- I did dodge it a little, i was afraid to do anymore, but your edit looks great :) [minus taking away his battle wound ;)]

Elbain- I desaturated the oranges and reds because they were distracting; i also sharpened this photo. But nothing else :)

Walkingmanblues & scorpio_e- i also like the scratch... He was beat up by our youngest brother :x

Thanks again everyone =D

Ok here's my try at a speedy fix...
messed with the eye color just a little bit, because once i desauturated everything but the blue, the center of his eye is so light it looked gray.

The BW is great. I like the sweat drop and the scratch. Makes it look like he's just been playing outside.

One of the best examples ever of use of too short a lens for portrait work. The distortion is extreme. Is that lens really only 5.8 mm like it says in the EXIF?

Yes the lense is really only 5.8 mm, it's not a professional camera by any means. It's a PowerShot SD600.

Keep in mind, this was just something i was playing around with, not for portraite work.

Thanks for your opinion :)
