My suggestion is to meter the background better and expose it one stop under, you're probably two stops under there, it's a bit dark for my taste. Then use flash to expose the subject properly. Professional wedding photographer, solution architect and general technical guy with multiple Amazon Web Services certifications.

Just in general. It's not right for every picture, but I like the style when it works. I think these work.
