Only sync at 1/250... looks like I'll be passing that up if I get a 1D.

Not according to Buff:

What the max speed on your 1D? 250? Pual has tested these up to 1/2500 of a sec with a Nikon D50. PW are over priced and bulky.
I also see how PW will make your camera sync any faster ???

I was thinking about these PW alternatives and realized for a sports photographer with strobes mounted in the rafters of (basketball) stadiums the 400ft cybersync range versus the 1600ft PW range may make a difference. Any thoughts on this ?

Is this for a basketball court in the Land of Brobdingnag, where things are 10x larger than our scale?!

Very true, I guess I'm not sure how high rafters are (I'm thinking big NBA stadiums).

By a show of hands, how many got the Gulliver's Travels reference?

Kudos, Wilt!

The diagonal on an NBA court along the floor is only about 105'. If you assume a 100' ceiling, that is still only a 150' diagonal distance from one corner on the floor to the opposite corner at the ceiling.

1D classics sync at 1/500, which is what I will be picking up. I think I'll just keep saving for the PW's, like pro.
