I'm looking at getting the Markins M20 ballhead with RRS LR II clamp and plates for the 1DMkIII, 300mm f2.8, 70-200mm f2.8, and I'd like one for the Newton bracket to be able to mount that as well. Only I don't see anything on the RRS website. I haven't checked the Newton site yet. I'm wondering if someone has already done this and can tell me what I'd need. Thanks.
I adapted my LR II for my DI100CR, as shown here:

The camera may ride a little higher than with the Standard Newton bracket but that will not matter. You will note in the picture, that I have a non-standard (lower) "arm" that the LR II is attached to. Robert made this for me when I used an RC2 QR....and thought the height of the 5D was important (at that time).
You will need a reducing bushing (from RRS, they are longer, better) so you can use a 1/4-20 bolt. I used "blue" Loctite to help keep the LR II from "torquing". Not sure it was need, but it does not move at all.
At the bottom, is a short RRS lens plate so the entire assemby can be mounted on the tripod.
