Just wondering as I have never sold a photographic image. I noted the following words from a reaction to a posted image in one of the forums...

"I'd watermark that and register the copyright as well. Wouldn't want something that good to get "misused..."

So what is the process to register the copyright of a photographic image? Doesn't one automatically have rights of author so long as one can prove one took the actual image??

Yes. But you don't get the extra damages if you have to take someone to court.
