I'm in Taiwan right now for 2 months at a university, and I've been taking a few pictures around sunset. Thought I'd share some of the photos. All the photos were taken in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, which is Taiwan's second largest city. It's a coastal city with one of the biggest ports in the world. The population of about 1.5 million. Despite the population, it retains a much more laid back atmosphere. Unlike the skyscraper wonderland that is Taipei, Kaohsiung hearkens back to a more traditional Taiwan. It's also a beautiful place with lush mountains overlooking the city and the sea.

Took this down by the beach. Some really dramatic sunsets here in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

I'm staying at the university, which is on a mountain overlooking the water. This a view point on another side of the mountain. Was taken at sunset.

Another perspective, when the sunset was at it fullest. View overlooks the harbor.

Took this shot by the beach at sunset. Sunsets are spectacular in Kaohsiung. Maybe it's the tropical weather or something, but they are unreal.

Taken from a slightly different perspective, when the sky was really on fire. one of the best sunset's I've seen.

Very nice shots. I wish I was still able to travel. And I appreciate it when people leave in the EXIF. ;)

Beautiful set. Looks like you are putting together a tourist photo book on Taiwan. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys! I'm spending two months in taiwan, then heading to China to photograph some of the most beautiful (and remote) landscapes in the country.

I generally try to be in various parts of the city (kaohsiung) for sunsets, so I'll continue to post pictures in this thread with my weekly/biweekly captures.

I'll be traveling around Taiwan on the weekends, so expect some pictures of some of Taiwan's most spectacular sights.

These are good landscape shots. I like the purple tones in #1 and #2.
