Crumpler Whickey & Cox hands down.

Ample space, super comfortable on your back, and most importantly for travelling abroad: It has rear access, which means you cannot be mugged in crowded places :)

Aridan,
mind if I ask some question about the bag. . .
Is that zippers on both side?

And on your number 8, is there any ways that I can removed that thing and put another body instead?

I'm really interested in crumpler backpack's line for travel.
But just not too sure if I should be getting this, the shrinckle or the keystone. . .

Yes, I accidentally left one open and one close when I shot it so it looks like it has only one zipper.

Sure can. :) Not only you can remove the accessory pouch, but you can remove the whole inner shell, leaving your with a regular day pack to carry whatever you want. :)

Bear in mind that these have a different configuration.

I don't know why, for some reason, I want these thing sooo bad. As I think the Kata R 103 suits me well and priced lower. :)

Thanks for the info...

I don't need to carry too much camera gear when traveling. I usually require 3 lenses(wide, normal, tele), 1 body, 1 backup non-slr digicam for my camera gear. But I need other extras like windbreaker, snacks, bottled water etc. I prefer backpacks over sling type bags since I tend to walk a lot when traveling. I also must be able to access camera & lenses easily. I also want rear access backpacks so I don't have to worry about somebody opening my bag in busy places.
So.. I eliminated all the shoulder bags, I also eliminated sling type bags since I tend to overload then and they tend to hurt my shoulders more than shoulder bags when overloaded since I can't switch shoulders. I eliminated most backpacks. While they are comfortable but they have hardly any room for other stuffs. Also I have to take it off and lay down to access my gear. I've considered Lowepro Fastpack which I liked a lot except there is no easy way to access lenses without taking it off completely. I bought and used Lowepro Flipside and Thinktank Rotation 360. I haven't touched TT Rotation in few years. It is too heavy for the size. I liked Flipside 300 but I have no room for any other stuff.
Then I bought Lowpro Primus. As long as I loose my grip, I can access camera while walking. It has plenty of room for other stuffs. It can carry 3 lenses and a body which is good for me since I tend to over pack. I can access lenses without laying down the bag and it is fairly comfortable for a camera backpack. It is nearly perfect bag for travel for me. Downsides, there's few. It can get heavy with a body and 3 lenses and other stuffs I need. It is pretty bulky. Not as comfortable as my NorthFace Solaris. But Primus is the backpack for me for travel out of 20 plus camera backpacks that I currently own.
Another bag that worked for me when traveling is TT Changeup. I use Changup with NorthFace Solaris. That was my go to travel combo before Primus.

I was in the same boat. I never heard of the name "Crumpler" until I started shopping for a camera bag (not too long ago). The workmanship of this company is absolutely top notch. FWIW, when I was looking to replace my Crumpler 7MDH with a backpack type bag, I was looking at the Katas as well. With regards to the latter, the inside build and protection the gear gets is superior to the Whickey & Cox (I must be honest here) - the padding is thicker; BUT!... it has front access which is a big no-no for me. I need the security when traveling abroad against muggers. If you ever stood in a crowded subway car, you'd know that there is no way for you to know if someone were to open your pack while on your back. Enter the Whickey & Cox... with rear access, there is simply no way for anyone to grab anything while the pack is on my back. :)

Better not try it, or that poor guy will end up hurt with one of his illegal weapons.
