5D is winging its way to a new owner on ebay, 40D was sold to a POTN member and so I bought a 1D Mk III on this basis.

Alas, said POTN member renagued on his promise and left me with the 40D on my hands.

Notwithstanding this I had already bought the 1D Mk III on his comittement, the moral of this story, is don't buy your new stuff until you REALLY know that you have your ducks lined up.

This reinforced the mantra, that when you 'hit the button' on ebay, you bought it!

On POTN, it is a matter of trust, and my first and only attempt to sell on POTN exposed that difference...a shame, so I suggest that you not only get your ducks lined up here, BUT also wait for them to land.

Regardless of the above I bought an absolutely 'as new' (650 clicks) 1D MkIII ON EBAY.......

Duck shots to follow...

Dale, Belated thanks. The 40D was snapped up on Talk Photography forum in no time. And I have not had a real opportunity to try out the 1DMK3 yet as I sent it in for the sub-mirror fix.

Just for you I'll put up 3 ducks. First I have to find even one!

Just got the body back from Canon Service centre in Elstree (UK) on Friday.

They took 11 days to do/schedule the sub mirror fix. It seems all the sports togs had sent in ALL of their gear for cleaning/calibration ahead of the upcoming Olympics, and my fix kept getting bounced.

However, now I have it back, I'm on the lookout for ducks!

Jamie

Well after the 1D3 arrived back from Canon for the sub-mirror fix (10 days due to Olympics gear being prioritized) I found a duck, not a great duck, but a nice little fella anyway....

Nice Duck & congrats on the new gear. FYI, shooting of ducks is for your own protection & not for the amusement of POTN members
