I have my first indoor shoot this weekend and I've read Scott Kelby's Digital Photography Book and he recommends shooting tethered whenever possible. I have Photoshop CS3 so I know it's capable of doing so. I am wondering if the 40D supports it and if so, what kind of cable is needed. Anyone have any insight they could share? - Dave -

Last night I got the tethering thing working with my 40D. My laptop had Windows Vista so it required an update to teh EOS Utility but once I did that it worked like charm. Thanks guys! - Dave -

Jul 12, 2008 20:27 | #7 You may want to get a longer USB cable so you can move farther away from your laptop. I'm not sure what the max length is for the camera, I know there is one, but my 10' cable works fine.

You're 100% right, I pulled out the box and it say 5 meters on it, so I'm at 16 feet away, no idea why I always thought it was 25 feet, most of it coiled up on the floor anyway.
