Looking for some advice on a printer. Mainly for my own use but also for occasional gift pictures (and maybe more if i can get some pictures sold:D)

If i can hit the following wishlist i would be over the moon:

1) Upto A3 prints
2) Quality of colour reproduction
3) Price (cheap would be good:p)

Any comments on reliability/cost of ink etc would be great!

I've used an Epson R2400. Nice prints. I'd suspect the comparable Canon printers provide about the same IQ.
On the printing costs: Some comments and links here (external link).

I recently printed 30 or so prints in A3/A3+. Cost for that was about 5 euro's per print (ink and paper)
If you regularly print a big number of big images, bigger ink cartridges might be an advantage.

The Epson R1900 is a great new printer. I have one, and am very pleased with it. The color output is fantastic, and it is not that expensive ($499 on sale with free shipping).

Agreed. I don't typically do my own traditional prints (pain in the ass, expensive, etc - nothing related with quality) but for the CD/DVD covers and other random materials it's extremely nice.

So it sounds like the Epson R2400 is the printer of choice then :D

Looks like we get stung in the uk though - cheapest price I can find so far is £434.50

But i think it will be worth it!
