Canon and Sigma Flash Compatibility

Hi All

I have a 580EXII and a Sigma 500SuperDG can I use these 2 together as a slave and master?? Also will the Canon ST2 work with these also???

the 500 has built in optical slave so you can use it that way as well

The Canon ST-E2 (external link) will fire a 580exII set to slave mode. It will also fire a 550ex, 430ex and 420ex set to slave mode. The ST-E2 will only fire A and B group flash units. The 580exII can control A, B and C group flash units.

I don't have direct knowledge of the Sigma 500SuperDG responding to Canon's "Master" signals as a slave.

If you'd like to find out if the 580exII can master the Sigma, why not give it a try and tell us if it works.

This weekend I set my Sigma 500 super to master and it fires a canon 420EX. Can't speak for the 580EX though.
