You guy are on a roll! I knew it was a difficult to define topic, but I also thought I wasn't the only one pondering!

If you feel so inclined, add what your top three fave topics are (wildlife, weddings, portraits....). Mine would be wildlife, landscapes, portraits.

I agree with shooting what the customer wants, but don't foret the shots you're after when out there purely for yourself!

Using my two swans as a reference, I would delete the generic 'swan by pond' but would hang the funky neck in the sunset shot!

And how about an exercise, if you would---do you have a shot that goes against what you 'usually' do that you particularl like? Care to enlighten us as to why?

I wouldnt use the word "artsy" cuz like said before, if one has to label oneself that, it defeats the whole purpose.

I like to use "creative".

Im more creative than traditional.

I can and have went the traditional route when it comes to traditional shoots, such as proms, weddings, etc.

When it comes to portraits of any kind, Ive never been hired to do them based on "traditional" shots.

I like to incorporate everything in a photo, not just the person, but the foreground, background, scenery, the whole thing. Add diferent dof do enhance a photos essence. Changing colors can do the same.

Traditional photos bore me, nothing against people that do them, they just dont spark enough interest in me to keep looking at the photo.
