question about lighting a car in a parking deck

my friend is letting me barrow his flash's this weekend for a shoot. 2 580's and 1 430 i belive. i will be shooting in a parking deck but i am trying to figure out a kind of way to set the flashes up. any one have any ideas on what i can do.

like for example if i were to be shooting driverside headlight so i could c the front bumper and driver side of the car how could i have the set up, one near the rear,passanger headlight and driverside head light. like any ideas bc i have seen pics where the background is completly black or is that just PP so please let me know thanks

Photosguy has a great how to for natural light but I havent seen a definitive flash guide for cars on here yet. (might be here just havent looked)

There are a lot of factors to account for. If you want the background dark then find a place that is dark and use the flash and a predetermined angle to illuminate the car only. Its best if you can get the raw shot to look as close to your idea as possible so there is less PS work and it looks more natural.

Read some guides on flash photography. Even if its not talking about cars it will help a lot. Think of it as glamor portrait photography where the model is a car.

You could have a background fade to black even in broad daylight if you wanted to (just use a faster shutter speed). Might consider bouncing off the grey/concrete ceilings to avoid hotpots, etc. Would suggest a custom WB.
