Has anyone ever tried this product for an underwater photography?

I mean like.. 10 feet deep.

Dica Pac (external link)

Thanks.

Here's the thing. I'd probably risk it and put an XT or 20D in there, but I would not take a 5D unless I had a few to spare.

The principle being: Usually condensation can form if you leave the camera there for long periods of time, and it is not very healthy to start putting the body in and out of the underwater case right by the pool , or seaside.

The good hard cases I have seen for these models top 3500 dollars.

In conclusion (to make sure I do answer) I don't assume this is a bad case, you just have to weigh the risk of ruining the gear vs. the need/want for photos.

Best of luck though,

I would get one of the waterproof Olympus P&S cameras for 10 ft underwater photography. I wouldn't trust a 5D in one of those personally

I'm glad I asked you guys. :)

I almost pull the trigger on it.. as it was very tempting item..

Instead, I bought a FujiFilm F50FD and the DicaPac to go with it.

It is no F31FD.., but its ISO 400 & 800 should be far better than most of P&S.. (so I hope. :))

Thanks for putting the sense back into me guys.

:)

I would think that using a P&S would be easier underwater anyways, not having to try and look through the viewfinder.

I have decided to buy a proper hard case for the F50FD, instead of the DicaPad..

Too uncomfortable to operate and it is not as protective as the hard case.
