Wow, I bought a 2GB one for that price a few months ago. Thanks for the heads up.

PNY is such a crap company. I've heard more complaints about them than Enron.

I've used a micro SD card from them and had no issues. Not sure about their PC memory though.

Had three SD cards format, had several customers have a SD, flash drives, and CF cards format. Had some friends have their SD cars format randomly. SO it's not just a one time thing like some people with Sandisk cards.

Sandisk, you may get a bad egg. PNY, you may get a good one. :p

Well, all my CF cards are Sandisk, just hadn't really heard anything bad about PNY. The micro SD card is in my wife's cel phone and doesn't get much of a workout. ;)

So ya may never know.

I bought 3 1GB from Best BUy for like $25 thinking awesome. They worked fine and luckily I just finished putting some photos on my computer and popped the SD back in my camera. Went to show someone the pics and saw it reformatted. Then it kept doing it so I sold them.

Then I had customers, while at CC, come in an complain.

OK, now you are saying that it just randomly re-formats? I can't even understand how that could be possible for a card to initiate a format.

Just like a hard drive can or any kind of memory that just stops working or glitches. Don't you read the threads? "CARD FORMATTED!!! WHAT TO DO" "Lost all my pictures..." etc

Usually that is because the user formats them or pulls them out of the card reading when it is writing. Not the card doing it on its own. I'm not saying it can't happen, just can't wrap my brain around it.

It happens all the time if you read threads when people don't. How hard is to to understand a memory based piece of hardware loses its memory. It's quite simple really.

I think you are confusing me by calling it reformatting. I consider reformatting to be when you load the card in you camera or PC and hit "format". I would not call a loss of data "reformatting" or "formatting".

That's just what would pop up. Said my card had been formatted.
