I just downloaded the Canon software for processing pics after I download them. I currently have the trial version of Corel photo running on my computer, so it opens the image with that program, rather than the Canon software. I can't re-size pics or do much else, unless I buy the program. Should I buy it, and use that, or should I uninstall it, and try to see if the Canon software will open the image then? Sooo confused..I took a bunch of great pics, with my New Canon XSI that I got a couple days ago,got them on my computer, and now can't do much with them. They are too big to add to any websites, and I don't even know how I can re-size them. Thanks to anyone who can give me advice here!!

DPP can resize the images. Here (external link) is a tutorial.

If you are looking for a free editor, have a look at the Gimp.

Thanks. I did download it onto my computer, however, it won't open any of my files (images). I don't know what to do now, I uninstalled Corel, and now there is nothing on my computer that will open the image. I have all these pics, that are HUGE for whatever reason (once I transferred them to my computer), and I cannot find a way to resize them. This Canon software is VERY confusing to me! Arggggggggg!!

Okay, step by step.

What format images? Raw or jpg?
What version DPP?
What OS?
How did you transfer the images to the computer?

Jpeg
newest version of DDP
pugged in USB cable, and voila the computer did the rest.
I think I'm better at taking the pics than understanding how to process them afterward. I did manage to open some , and resize and trim them, but I can't do anything else to them yet. So I am posting my first few pics taken with my new camera in the appropriate thread. Thanks for your help.
