Hi
Just purchased a Canon 300mm F2.8 L IS Lens and need to know where on the lens I can find the serial number. I can see the UW0520, which I believe denotes where and when it was made. Also on the body, close to the CE mark is a 5 digit number. Is this the serial number? I would have expected it to be a larger number than this.

Hmm... no replies about checking the warranty card please !!

Cheers

Yep. On the underside of the lens, next to the lens mount.

I have an EF-S 18-200mm IS f/3.5-5.6 lens here.

I'm trying to find the 12-digit serial number ("Lens No.") on the body, and I don't see it ANYWHERE.

[EDIT: JUST FOUND IT. Maybe I'll post a picture when I get a chance. Those things are hard to see!]
