I just got a PowerShot A75 (christmas gift) and it has started making a suspicious noise when zooming in & out - a sort of whirring/clicking noise before and after the zoom adjusts. I wouldn't think anything of it, except that it only started making this sound a week ago.

If anyone can tell me:
- is it likely to get any worse?
- should I have it repaired/replaced?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, especially since I am considering buying another as a gift.

I had the same problem with my first A75, took it back to the store and they replaced it. Second one OK.

I had the same problem with the A85 I bought, it clicked when the lens was zoomed out or in. Took it back to the store and got another one which did not do it.

I had the same experience, camera seems to work fine though. It started 2 weeks after purchasing the camera or approx 300 photos in. I hope Canon can respond to us. I am thinking the noise is normal?
