430EX I/II questions...

I noticed that on B&H it lists both the 580ex and the 430ex as both swivel heads.


How much does the 430EX roate around at the head and tilt at the hotshoe?

I noticed at my wedding last weeked that the photographers flash seemed to be able to lean forward (I think?) aswell as rotate at the head and it would also tilt the head too.


I guess the best example I can give is the common flip phone. How it opens up like a clam shell, but at the hinge it would also swivel 360 degrees.


This is more curiosity than anything, Im still trying to decide which flash is for me in the future. Thanks in advance.

So is there anybody by chance that has a 430ex that can give it a quick twist of the head?

75 degrees to 90 degrees up and down
it can rotate 270 degrees around

180 degrees left(CCW), only 90 degrees to the right(CW). 90 degrees from straight ahead to straight up.

the 580exII can tilt forward ~5 degrees, for use with macro photography.
