I'm trying to figure out how to back-up just my picture files with it and not the whole dang c drive.

I have it & don't care for it keep coming up with errors. So I just copy my files over to the backup drive

I use a Maxtor One Touch and Retrospect Express. I use it to automatically back up my hard drive. It works fine for the whole drive. I haven't tried individual folders though. I like the fact that you can make a Copy which can be used like a regular hard disk, a Backup, or both.
