I attended the Concrete Rodeo Skateboard contest in Seaside Oregon last Saturday...slept in a car the night before, but it was worth it: P
Anyways, here are some of my favorites

5) Some of the riders wore some random outfits like this banana costume

6) although almost all of the riders were under 18, there was this little guy who was especially young, he didn't do much more then ride up and down, but even that was impressive

7) For the finals, two riders face head to head called jousting, occasionally these two riders collide-

8 ) I brought the 300 2.8 a long which might not have been the best idea considering how small the park was, but I used it anyways and got this shot that I really like

Thanks, some C&C and suggestions for the next event on Wednesday would be appreciated: D

First and last shots are my favorite but all are pretty sweet. Maybe try to get a little tighter on the next round of shots.

#1 and #8 are my favorites. I like the lighting, detail, POV and the determined looks on their faces, including the tongue sticking out in #1. Great sense of action!!!

Thanks guys, no flash used although if I had an assistant it would have been awesome and I would have for sure used some off camera flash.

I shot another event on Wednesday, the park was really different and the used of a wider lens was pointless, so I used the 300 and 70-200 for the event, I'll post a new thread with the photos from that set:D

How many shoots did you take that day and how many do you feel where just OK to very good shots? I would say these are all good.

I took almost 500, uploaded about half of them I would say, and I don't particularly like any of the photos. I do like #8 because I kinda know the kid, and it took me a really long time to frame it properly. But for the most part I just chose a fair bit of everything to post here so I could get some C&C. Nothing in here I am particularly proud of, just decent skate stuff that I might be able to sell to the families and potentially their sponsors. With what I was handed as far as the conditions with the sun and set up with the park I did the best I could, but didn't get a set of images to be proud of. eh I dunno, like I said I hope to do some more skate stuff that isn't from a contest so I can set up and produce my shots.
