Hi all :)

I'm unable to make either of the public days for Farnborough this year, but am planning to pop down tomorrow with a friend of mine. Can anyone recommend a good place to be outside the venue? I've heard one can stay under the flight path at the end of the runway to get some good shots of the aircraft landing?

Any advice would be most appreciated :)

Thanks!

David

Hi David

I cannot comment about suitable exterior places for views but I am still trying to work out where the grandstand is to 'determine' whether though I have a ticket for it it will really provide the best viewing point for the displays.

Oh I gather that traffic around the whole area even during the week is a real mare. So heaven knows what the public days at the weekend will be like ???

Hey Laurence :)

I just remembered this thread I started a while back:

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=448098

Where some chaps gave some suggestions of places to see the displays during the week ... so I will be meeting my friend at 1300 at the Swan Pub tomorrow which is right at the end of the runway!

Cheers :D

David

PS. Yeah I hope the traffic isn't too manic!

I grew up in Farnborough, and found the best place to view outside the field the Swan. Also on Sycamore rd there is a large park which should be a good spot.
