Not really - just issues... but they all came at once.

It's called Job Security.

I just googled the fire, it was apparently started by someone who was target practicing. Do people who accidentally start fires like this one get fined?

I forget the name of the hunter who got lost and lit a signal fire down San Diego way a couple of years ago. Dang near burned up the whole county. Methinks his name is now JailBait.

Interesting... Too bad the Condors couldn't, you know, fly away from the fire....

They were too busy eating BBQ's pigeon...

oh and this is Pacha, in the tamrac rolling bag that I'm getting rid of.
...

He did NOT want to get out and was very grumpy with me for insisting :) Now I've got to vacuum the bag.
...

Does the new owner know they're getting a free cat in the packaging? I'd wager it would be quite amusing to watch such a package containing an irritated cat being opened...

It's called Job Security.

One of our large, corporate customers (A resort up the mountain a bit) has been having a lot of issues since Friday - we haven't changed anything and they haven't changed anything (so they said)....

So we drive up there and spend a lot of time troubleshooting, only to find they re-wired everything in a totally crazy way... So - I guess re-wiring your router, firewall and switches is "not changing anything" --- oooookay!

oh yay, I just got my gear organized into the two pelicans. (except lighting gear and the battery chargers) (Vanna-Ed is displaying them for us)
in the smaller carry bag I've got my two cameras with lenses attached (24-70 on one and 70-200 on the other) and the 16-35 as well as filters and batteries and cards and misc.

in the other one, the rest of the lenses and tc's and flash, G9 and stuff. For the most part I won't need to bring two bags anymore (unless I'm birding) which will make things very nice. The shootsac will also fit in this bag. (I've owned it for a while and love it).

opinions on the new one (Pelican PETBB PCS-180 D'Exec Series Pro Camera Tote Bag):

It's tall enough and wide enough for 2x 1 series cameras to fit with most lenses attached (except the telephoto primes...can't put the 300 f4IS on the camera in there but can easily store it where the 16-35 is).

The front of the bag opens and there are pouches in there that run across the bag but they are sewn down the middle so putting the filter pouches in there is impossible. I didn't like that.

It's heavy (even w/o stuff in it) so not optimum for a walk around bag but very nice for a day trip.

It's not large though so it makes good use of it's space.

Comes with 90 bazillion dividers of varying sizes...I can't even imagine using half...I put 2/3 of them in storage.

Overall it's exactly what I wanted for when I didn't need all my gear.

We're always in such a rush to get from Point A to Point B, we really don't take the time to see what's in between. Heck, I'd love to explore Arizona, and it's just 100 miles east of here.

I used to be that way around here... Dan broke me of that habit... if I'm going somewhere I much more appreciate what is between here and there!!

I am organising a move from Boston to Australia and do that for a couple of years and enjoy it down under....then see where my itchy feet take me.

What good things are there to explore in Arizona?

We'll be spending a couple of nights in Phoenix too if i recall..

Sounds like fun! What part of Australia?

I'd like to see the grand Canyon some day... Not likely that I'll make it.. but it would be nice... It sucks being a single parent sometimes!

All too familiar with that. I've had calls on Monday wanting to know why the computers weren't working and thanking us for the new phones. Thing is, this was at a hospital where we had nothing to do with the phones. Seems that over the weekend they'd installed a new phone system and they "moved" some of our wires. Or, in troubleshooting why their "computer" wouldn't work (it was a character terminal), and following "Rule #1" I had them plug a known working electric calculator into the same wall outlet as the terminal. Hey, it turns out that didn't work either. "Sorry, ma'am, you'll have to call facilities for that one."

Wow, now that is a LOT of equpiment to someone with 1 lens!!

and I forgot, the new extreme iii cards work fine...no issues during lens removal. I was worried since the extreme iii's are new technology...I'm glad they work fine.

I did buy those kingston cards, when they were on sale. $18 for a 4GB and $32 for an 8Gb, i thought why not? So far so good...*knock on wood*

Yup, hard not to fall over into a giant hole in the ground and not investigate it at all....any tips on parts of it that are a must see?

Well I am doing my research. The top boss down there says i can move to Sydney, Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane....I'd like to go to Brissie, but for career advancement, Perth may be better....touch choice really...

Yeah, we're going with my in-laws since they would love to get out there, before their knees start failing on them, and then they could never walk around the area...

That's a wide range of choices you've got there! I would truly like to see Canberra.... I have family ties to that city... I'd like to see it... Otherwise.. it matters not where in Oz I go... other than I want to hold a Koala!!!! :D

IF I SHOULD... then I'm not sure other than the shot Scott mentioned which ones to enter...

I forget the name of the hunter who got lost and lit a signal fire down San Diego way a couple of years ago. Dang near burned up the whole county. Methinks his name is now JailBait.

Several people died in that fire, including one firefighter. Here's a Wiki article (external link)on the fire. It's reasonably accurate. The person who set the fire got off lightly and most of the blame for the destruction and deaths was placed on Cal Fire and their firefighting policies.

Blame for the Witch Creek fire of 2007 has been placed on San Diego Gas and Electric for arcing powerlines that started the fire. This one's not over yet... The lawyers have started TV advertising for people to join the lawsuit.
