The colors seem very good and nice bokeh too. Do you feel it has a learning curve? Is it hard to hold still? The colors do seem mice and I prefer the bokeh on this lens over some of my others, including the 70-200 and the 100-400 that I rented last year. I don't find it hard to hold as there is plenty of lens to hold and the OS just freezes all but the biggest shake. I did have a little bit of a hard time shooting some Dragonflies, but it was a close up and the DOF is so small (plus I was using MF) that the slightest movement throws off your focus. With more practice I have no doubts that I can nail the shots. I will have more later to share adn I think they will be quite good. Mike, The Keeper of the Archive

And I liked the 70-200's bokeh but was marginal on the 1-4's. It really depended on the background with that one. You just had to pay to be seated along the main line. So I just went there and tried to find a "good spot". Unfortunately for me, there were many people and lots of press photographers. As I had a good angle, some of them always came in front of me (but I was to far away to be able to tell them anything and I would have lost my spot if I had moved...

Bokeh refers to the characteristics of the out of focus areas of an image. Large aperture lenses tend to produce smoother, more visually appealing bokeh. The number of blades in the aperture also plays a major role as well....the more blades, the smoother the bokeh tends to be. People that know me call me Dan

Bokeh refers to the quality of the OOF highlights. Lenses can exhibit good, neutral, or bad bokeh. Good bokeh is typically found when the outer edge of the highlight smoothly transitions to the edges. Bad bokeh typically has a hard ring around the highlight.
