did you guys see that someone else had THE SAME problem (not with an 8gb though) with a silicon power card and a mk2? That's so interesting to me because I've never had a problem with these cards. I'm sure it's the card though, now. It must just not be working right with the older bodies because it works great on the new ones.

Judging is this coming Saturday, then the fair starts in 3 weeks. They're dealing with major volume (between 1200-1800 prints just in the Salon - that's not counting Juveniles and the International competition).

done a bit more poking round on the internet (as you do) and the consensus apears to be that for a cropped bod save the cash and go for the mk1

I have the original 16-35 and it really is a decent lens...I don't think it is quite as sharp as my 17-40....but I see no earthly reason to sell my version to buy the "new and improved" Mark II. I think on anything other than a 1Dsmk3, you will never see the difference. The added advantage to the original version is the 77mm filter size should you want to toss one on.
