GMooooo everyone. Congrats on the 1D Mo . I just went from 1DM2 to a 30D, and I'm pleasantly surprised by it. Only two things that irk me though.

1. Feels really ickle in my hand - but as it's a stop-gap until the 5D successor is announced (or I go for a D300ops
2. The AF is noticeably less responsive than that of the 1 series, and the 40D. When I went from 40D to 1D, I didn't notice a big jump in AF responsiveness, but coming back down, I can really feel the difference . Probably doesn't help I've gone from a 24-70 f/2.8 to all f/4 lenses.

Lots of factors at play there...I can certainly see why you see a difference....

Then you haven't had real salmon. Smoked salmon, especially done the way my shot depicts, is melt in your mouth heavenly. Any salmon that is eaten more than ten miles and two days from where or when it was caught isn't going to be good, IMWO.

Same here. I was helping my dad deep sea fish when I was a little guy. I got spoiled from all the fresh fish we ate. Restaurant seafood just isn't the same.

Guess that is another reason to head that way....have some safe salmon!

Hey, can any of you computer gurus help me out here... What's the difference between a PC card and an Express card?

My new laptop has one of those built-in "5-in-1" card readers that accepts everything except Compact Flash. I have a PC card adapter that will allow a CF card to be inserted in a computer, but according to the documentation that came with my new laptop, it takes an Express card. Apparantly PC cards and Express cards are not interchangeable... I do have a USB CF card reader but I want to leave that with my desktop. I guess I'm just going to have buy another card reader.

My Reseident Professional Techno Geek ain't on-line yet. I have an intergreted card reader on my new laptop and had to get one to ready compact flash as well but I left it up to the RPTG to handle the details.
