You may collapse in a heap at the end of the day though ![]() and thanks re: the photos! I agree, I much prefer dungeness crab over king crab. The flavor (fresh off the ships and still alive before you cook it) is (for me at least) much different. Seems like king crab is not as sweet and a little more mushy (and by sweet I don't mean sugary...I just can't think of the word I want). These are gorgeous. If you don't win anything, the judges are twits. I guess we'll find out this weekend how much I want to collapse at the end of the day. Nice portrait, Chief. Very nicely lit. I know... That probably doesn't tell you much. Pentium Dual core, 3 GB RAM, 320Gb HD, Windows Vista Home Premium. ibdb wrote in post #6084619 After some quick reading (http://www.expresscard.org/web/site/cons_faq.jsp There are a few consumer friendly parts of that site that can give you more information.Jon wrote in post #6085996 Different size, pinout and performance. The PCI Express is a direct tap into the computer's main bus, sorta like CardBus on steroids. And it comes in 2 flavours, with different numbers of pins/contacts. IIRC you can use the smaller-pin version devices in the bigger-pin slot, but that's merely a vague recollection (ExpressCard 34 vs 54) Thanks for the information. It's obvious I can't use my old PC card-CF adapter with this computer. Now all I have to determine is which is less expensive; another USB CF card reader or a Express Card-CF adapter... ibdb wrote in post #6084700 I think I would have looked suspicious walking around the Pike Place Market with the 100-400 mounted. ![]() Your comment brings up an interesting point. You hear many stories about photographers being told they couldn't shoot somewhere in the interests of security, yet I've discovered transportation security seems to be randomly applied. Saturday after our club's shoot, I wandered over to the San Diego Amtrak Depot to see if I could get some shots of the trains there. The platform area is open to the street (partly because two different commuter trains stop there) and I was able to walk on to the platform and right up to the trains, one Coaster and two different Amtrak trains. I shot several pictures of the trains and then walked away without anyone saying a thing to me. John

Yeah, I seriously doubt the same would happen with me....being of Indian ethnicity, having a large camera, walking into a train depot with a backpack too, i am sure i'd get stopped...
