I'm glad I don't have Jake's problem. Canon is just tormenting me. My camera repairs have shown complete since Friday. Complete, but not yet shipped.

Ship it, already!!

oh cool, I'm glad they fixed whatever was wrong. Maybe you'll get it soon!

really? It would be a nice little happy maker if I got it before the weekend.

Canon didn't get me my tracking number until I received the camera...

Mooooooo, all.

They look good - could you post a shot with the heat waves un-corrected?

I'll see if I can give you a more dramatic example later. Basically I went with a soft focus/add glow effect on the first and a traditional sharp approach on the one without the heat wobbles. The more heat wobbles, the softer the focus and more glow I threw in. Basically I liked the colors and composition of some shots that the heat distorted, and was looking for a way to save them some how. Not sure if it's worth it in the long run, but it's fun to play with.

I have a Motorola Razr...typing on that definitely sucks, but it can be done. I think my next phone will probably be the Samsung SCH-i760 (external link)

Looked at the 760 before getting the vx6800 (xv6800?). A nice phone, but the interface didn't feel as natural to me for some reason.

 Naughty minion.

we're having rain today and thunder and lightning. I've shut down the desktop computers and can't process. I did all my housework on Sat. so I could work on my photos today...but now I'm just watching the olympics.

We've had rain and thunder, too. Just in time for my kids to have a week of baseball camp. . . Guess it's indoor drills today.

I'm thinking (just thinking) of selling the M3 and picking up a D700 (but keeping my ds2).

Permie, I'm sure someone will talk some sense into you by the time I get caught up. . .

Step 2: ??????
Step 3: Profit!

You forgot step 0. Go into debt to buy the gear in the first place.

I've only had one thing go through a Canon service center, and it arrived at my house before their website even showed that repairs had been completed. There seems to be some lag in their system.

GMAE folks....

I was at a wedding this weekend, taking snaps of my friends with the G9 (as you do), when one of the people on the table (a new GF of one of my friends) said "don't you think it's rude to take photos of people without them knowing?".

I was going to point out that it's a wedding, that's what people do. But tact took the better of me and I put the camera down on the table again (with an audible thunk).

Some people, eh?

pro photo says they have a EF 135 f2.8 for $245. Even if that was a really used copy, that would be a killer deal.

Yep. 135 is a most excellent focal length...

Is the 135 sf 2.8? I've heard great things about that lens (if you turn off the soft focus)

Doesn't everyone take pictures at weddings? I would have spent the rest of the evening taking her picture for paranoia value alone.

diggypiccy.com favours it.

The 135L is of course, super-killer, but then I'm slightly biased there...
