No... should I be?

No. :) But you said "over here" which to me implied you were somewhere other than Boring. I'm tired.

So background for some of these photos... Our house has one smoke alarm that is connected to AC power. All the rest are battery powered.

Well - it started beeping once every minute at 7am...

Well, it is about 20' up in stairwell -- kinda hard to reach with a normal ladder.

So I had to build a platform that a ladder could fit on. Now, if you know me at all, you will know that power tools and I don't have TOO much experience together. I can drill things just fine and that is about it. Well - I used the saw and a few other tools to make this... and then I sent my sister up the ladder. We actually tried two of our ladders, then moved on to a neighbors taller ladder -- which couldn't be fully extended, so it was a bit scary... we finally replaced the battery (that lasted for 15 years, since it mainly used AC power) -- and it kept on beeping, so we took it out and will talk to some people tomorrow to see why it is still beeping.

Oh, and yes the stairs look gross, we are still building parts of the house, and the "real" stairs aren't in yet.

ALL SHOT IN JPEG!! with a cellphone
